Thank you for taking the time to read my post on Ston. I think you will fall in love with Croatia! There is so much beauty and history in the Balkans. And by the way, I’m so glad I stumbled on your blog. I enjoyed reading a few of your posts. I can’t tell you how impressed I am that you wrote the one on Helsinki as a stream of consciousness exercise. I am looking forward to reading your future posts on “Something To Ponder About.”

A week sounds perfect, Hannah. You’ll have time to sample the cuisine, try some wines and more oysters like you did on Croatia’s Peljesac Peninsula. I look forward to reading about your upcoming trip.

I would pick Perast and visit Kotor from there, too. Kotor attracts the crowds, and, with more time, we’d have traveled north to see the landscapes you saw. You captured so much beauty in your photos. I wish I could have seen Ostrog Monastery and those views from the mountains. I’m curious about your thoughts on visiting Risan, and any other nearby towns we missed on this trip.

It’s close to Kotor as you know and easy to organise a trip to some the natural spectacles of north Montenegro. A small country with a lot to offer 🙂

A week! I imagine Perast would be a great base to savor a place like Montenegro. I would love to explore more of the historic towns and country.

I just read your piece about wine-tasting and oyster-sampling on the Peljesac Peninsula. Lucky you, you did it right! I would have loved to have had time to savor the area.

Thank you for posting about your visit to Café Belvedere aka Tito’s Tea Room. It looked lovely from our pletna, and I would have enjoyed having a coffee and kremšnita like you did on the terrace. I didn’t know much about it until I returned to the States and researched it. When I found out it had been Tito’s villa I was disappointed we didn’t visit. I saw a video of the mural in Rick Steve’s video, and totally agree with you. It’s a very moving piece. I’m glad the Slovenian government owns it again.

Thanks, Maggie. Traveling is a challenge these days with the crowds. I’m sure, weather-permitting, there are better times to visit Plitvice Lakes, but we didn’t expect this many people during shoulder season. Not surprisingly, we were the only ones who went off trail. I guess everyone else knew about the possibility of landmines.
